Task 1: The diagrams show a small museum and its surroundings in 1990 and 2010.

Sample

The maps demonstrate how a museum and its surrounding neighborhood were transformed during a 20-year period beginning in 1990.

Overall, the museum underwent a significant makeover, with a number of facilities being either rebuilt, expanded, or integrated.

In 1990, the museum’s interior area was defined by a storeroom in the upper left corner, a shop near an entrance, a cottage along the main road, and a series of display rooms. In addition, the museum was surrounded by green space in the northern part, including a number of trees and a garden. In the eastern half of the map, there was a second garden next to a parking lot.

Regarding the second map, the route was reduced 20 years later, allowing additional space for the inside of the museum, although the old car park, main road, and green area remained unchanged. Another notable feature was the construction of a new parking lot to replace the second garden. Instead of converting two exhibition rooms at the entrance into one, the museum’s store was extended, taking up the area where the exhibition room had stood. Furthermore, the cottage was demolished to make place for a cafe, but the storeroom was preserved.

IELTS Writing Task 2

Task 2: In many countries today, if people want to find a job, they have to move away from their friends and their families. Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

Sample

Individuals are increasingly leaving their family and friends to pursue their job goals. Some people may relocate to far-flung areas of the nation, while others opt for going abroad. This trend, in my opinion, offers more advantages than downsides which would be discussed objectively during the course of the essay before drawing on a rational conclusion. 

When an individual decides to relocate for work, there are several benefits for both the individual and his or her loved ones. Primarily, no one abandons their family for a few perks. As a result, it is understandable that people who elect to relocate away from their native country for work expect greater job possibilities and higher pay. With their wages, they would eventually be able to improve the family’s economic situation and standard of living. Most significantly, in a better location, one may enjoy improved infrastructure, health care, and recreational opportunities. In addition, living alone instills a sense of independence in a person by requiring him to pay bills, buy food, clean the house, and prepare meals.

On the other hand, there are some drawbacks to this progression as well. The first and foremost is a longing for one’s home and loved ones. Second, adjusting to new people, language, food, and cultural trends is difficult. In summary, unfamiliarity in any situation puts a person’s mental and physical well-being at risk. And in such scenarios, being geographically far away from their family and acquaintances would only bring more harm than good. 

To summarize, despite a few disadvantages, the advantages of living far away for job reasons are faster and further. Also, working in a better city or nation is fundamentally satisfying.

Phân tích

Phần mở bài khẳng định xu hướng này đem lại nhiều lợi ích hơn cho người trẻ và cả gia đình của họ.

Đoạn body 1 phân tích những lợi ích đó: Có nhiều cơ hội việc làm hơn, lương cao hơn → lo được cho gia đình cuộc sống tốt hơn; Bên cạnh đó việc rời gia đình đến những thành phố hiện đại hơn đồng nghĩa với hưởng cơ sở vật chất (y tế, giáo dục,…) và những dịch vụ tốt hơn. 

Đoạn body 2 nhắc tới một vài khó khăn về việc rời gia đình: nhớ nhà, shock văn hoá → Ảnh hưởng đến sức khoẻ tinh thần.

Tuy nhiên kết bài vẫn khẳng định việc chuyển đến những thành phố mới để sinh sống sẽ giúp người trẻ trưởng thành và có tương lai rộng mở hơn. 

Mỗi khi chuyển sang luận điểm mới cần có các từ chỉ dẫn: On the one/other hand, primarily, most significantly, second, in summary, to summarize,…và thêm các dẫn chứng cụ thể về mặt lợi/ hại của vấn đề.
